If you’re a teacher in Iowa, I would like to highly encourage you to consider attending the Global Education Institute on Saturday, September 10th and Sunday, September 11th (2016) at the University of Iowa. I was fortunate to be one of the 45 or so participants last year and found it to be a very rewarding experience. In addition to connecting with other likeminded world language teachers and teachers of other disciplines, there were a TON of resources available to help teach about globally important concepts and I also gained some new activities to use in my classroom. It was during this weekend PD that I made a lot of headway on the unit I was creating for my Master’s Capstone Project. If you’re on the fence about attending, please consider the fact that not only is it FREE to attend, but the institute offers one FREE renewal credit in addition to free lodging for the first 25 attendees that live outside of Iowa City. Plus, the lunch was FREE and incredible, as well. Make sure to register for the Global Education Institute by October 31st to come join me!
